Brewers Ball is a celebration of brewing in the state of Florida. The intent is to gather brewers from across the state for the presentation of the Best Florida Beer Championships best of show winners. The BFBC is a non-profit organization, and our events are attended primarily by brewers and their friends and family. The Ball features live music and samples of the Gold Medal winning beers from the Best Florida Beer Championships commercial competition. Best of Show Awards are announced for the Homebrew and Commercial competitions. There will also be a homebrew keg competition and Awesome Beer Raffle.

Frequently Asked Questions
May I bring my own glass?
Yes, For environmental reasons, we encourage you to bring your own sample glass. If you forget to bring one, we will give you a disposable plastic cup to use. We encourage you to bring a small cup suitable for sampling. There is plenty of beer to go around, so there is no reason to bring an economy sized cup.
How are beers chosen to be served at Brewers Ball?
Florida brewers selling their beer in Florida are eligible to enter the Best Florida Beer Championships (BFBC). We pair the highest ranking BJCP (Beer Judge Certification Program) judges and professional brewers together on panels. The beers are evaluated blind (judge only knows what style was enter, not who brewed it), and commercial brewers are NOT allowed to judge their own beers. Only the best beers (world class examples of the style entered) receive a BFBC Gold Medal. Gold Medal winners are invited to be poured at Brewers Ball. A final round of judging called Best Of Show occurs just prior to Brewers Ball. Here all of the Gold Medal winners compete side by side in another blind tasting. The TOP THREE beers for both regular and small batch beers are then announced LIVE at the Brewers Ball.
What about rain/inclement weather?
This event will proceed rain or shine. We do have an indoor space (the Cuban Club Cantina) reserved in case of bad weather. Live music will be brought inside, but beer and food will be outside so bring rain gear/winter wear if necessary. If the weather is nice, you should bring sunscreen as shade is limited.
How can I get a VIP Pass?
VIP passes are NOT for sale. Only BFBC Organizers and Gold Medal Winning Brewers are given VIP passes.
Can I taste the Small Batch Gold Medal Winners?
Maybe. Some commercial brewers make beers in such limited supply that it would be impractical to provide a full 1/2 barrel keg to the Brewers Ball. These beers, however, are sometimes the most flavorful and unique of all the Florida brewed beers. These brewers therefore can only send us 1/6bbl kegs (about 5gallons). Since there is not enough beer in one of these kegs for every Brewers Ball guest to sample, we have created a exclusive tasting area for these beers. We are not selling acccess to the small batch area (you must be a BFBC organizer or a gold medal winning brewer), but we will be raffling off 5 pairs of small batch tickets. To participate in the raffle you must be checked in at the main entrance 30 minutes prior to the gates opening. The raffle will happen at 11:30am sharp.
Can I bring my own food and water?
Water - YES. We encourage you to bring a couple of bottles of water.
Food - NO. We will have food available for purchase at the event. Our food vendors work very hard, and we wish them to benefit financially for their labor. If you cannot find anything that you want to purchase at the Ball, you are allowed to leave and come back. You can visit one of the many fine restaurants in Ybor or you may return to your car if you have a packed lunch.
