2017 Florida Homebrewer of the Year -

Tyler Rosenberg

What started as a hobby in 2011, brewing quickly evolved into a passion & full time career for Tyler. After just two years of entering state competitions he earned the title of Florida Homebrewer of the Year in 2017 as well as winning a gold medal in the National Homebrew Competition for his dopplebock. After cutting his teeth at Coppertail Brewing Co, working as a packaging technician, he went pro in 2018 brewing for Cigar City Brewing in addition to heading brewing operations at Carrollwood Brewing Company where you can find his original recipes on draft.

2017 Best Homebrew Beer in Florida -

Preston Dolinger

Like many homebrewers, Preston started homebewing on a Mr. Beer kit he received as a gift in 2011. After 10 or so "not bad, but not good" batches, he gave up the hobby for a bit. After meeting a friend at work who invited him to watch an all -grain brew day, Preston was immediately hooked on the all grain process. Since then Preston has brewed over 150 batches of beer. His main staples are German style beers (Hefeweizens, Doppelbocks and Helles) and Belgian style beers (Golden Strongs, Wits, Doubles and Quads).

Preston was ranked 13th overall in the 2017 Florida Homebrew circuit with a crowing achievement of winning Best Beer In Florida (1st BOS) at the 2017 Best Florida Beer Competition for his German Hefeweizen. Preston also hosts a beer themed Youtube show called "The Beer Chasers" that features beer reviews, home brewing and brewery spotlights.

2017 Best Homebrew Cider or Mead - Nicholas Stephens

Back in 2011 a simple visit to Southern Brewing & Winemaking turned a hobby from an excuse for day drinking into an obsession. Nick joined Special Hoperations Homebrew Club in 2012 and credits the group with drastically improving his brewing prowess. While he most enjoys brewing his signature IPA’s, he has also achieved accolades in a wide variety of styles, including Best of Show – Cider & Mead in the most recent Best Florida Beer Homebrew Competition. As president of Special Hoperations Homebrew Club he aims to lead them to their third state title in the past five years, while simultaneously distinguishing himself as 2018’s Homebrewer of the Year.
